One rule before the details
Most post-procedure complications are not surgical in origin — they come from returning to activity too quickly, or from incorrect hygiene. The instructions below look simple, but following them is exactly what separates a quiet recovery from a troubled one.
Hygiene: less is more
- Lukewarm water only in the first days — no washes, no perfumed soap.
- Pat dry with a clean cotton towel; never rub.
- No baths and no swimming for at least two weeks.
- Change underwear twice daily in the first week.
- No douching at all.
Sitting and moving
Prolonged sitting on a hard surface increases pressure and swelling. Use a soft cushion and change position every half hour. Light walking is beneficial and expected from day one — it improves circulation, reduces swelling and guards against clots. Prolonged standing and lifting are deferred.
Rough timeline: light walking from day one, desk work from days three to seven, light exercise after two to four weeks, full exercise and lifting after six weeks.
Clothing and activities
- Loose cotton clothing for the first fortnight — avoid tight jeans entirely.
- No sauna, steam or hammam.
- No cycling or riding for six weeks.
- Avoid direct heat on the area.
- Postpone long-haul flights by a week; if unavoidable, move hourly.
Intimacy: a realistic schedule
| Procedure | Waiting period |
|---|---|
| Filler / mesotherapy | 3–5 days |
| Golden plasma | 5 days |
| Smart threads | Two weeks |
| Labiaplasty | 4–6 weeks |
| Surgical tightening / bladder lift | 6 weeks |
These are guidelines; final clearance comes from your doctor at your review, based on how you are healing.
When to call the clinic immediately
- A temperature above 38°C.
- Heavy or increasing bright red bleeding.
- Severe pain not responding to analgesia.
- Foul-smelling discharge or a clear change in colour.
- Sudden swelling on one side only.
- Difficulty or severe pain passing urine.
Calling early is always better than waiting. There is no "trivial" question during recovery.
